Bob Campbell is a Wells local hero
The unassuming everyman, recycling depot manager and general “guy about town”, Bob has a twinkle in his eye and quiet, wry wit evident in his arresting songs.
Poignant, timely, and known to move a room to pin drop silence, Bob’s songs speak of times lost and slow realizations. They are sad, at times angry with the state of things, and always imbued with a hint of idiosyncratic humour.
At a past songwriting workshop, Bob pulled the verb “expectorate” out of a hat. As soon as someone told him what it meant, “Spit It Out” was in the works. A song about writing songs? Advice to himself? Perhaps the very reason people attend song writing workshops in the first place.
